Bright, vibrant and quietly structured, Darling Estate Gamay leans towards a more serious, Cru Beaujolais-inspired style. Expect lifted red berries and currants, with a light to medium-bodied palate, gentle tannin and a savoury edge that adds depth to its fresh, juicy core. Crafted with care — including hand-picking, wild ferment and some whole bunch — it’s a beautifully balanced, food-friendly red.

About Darling Estate
Darling Estate is a small, family-run winery in Whitfield in Victoria’s King Valley, with roots in the region stretching back over 100 years. The Koombahla vineyard, first planted in 1970, was one of the earliest commercial plantings in the upper King Valley, and today the family continues to focus on small-batch, site-driven wines that reflect both the season and their land.

Their approach is hands-on and minimal intervention, aiming to let the vineyard speak — resulting in wines that are authentic, expressive, and built with a sense of place.

What is Gamay?
Gamay is a light-bodied red grape best known from France’s Beaujolais region. It typically produces vibrant, fruit-forward wines with low tannin, fresh acidity and a juicy, easy-drinking style — perfect for those who enjoy Pinot Noir but want something a little more playful and refreshing.
